One of LA’s most vibrant, eclectic and lovingly curated music event, FYF Fest has been canceled by promoter Goldenvoice, the festival confirmed in a statement. According to Billboard, it was allegedly canceled due to poor sales, although the official statement reads “our team of many women and men have worked tirelessly on this event for many years but felt unable to present an experience on par with the expectations.” Ticket holders will receive full refunds.
This year’s festival was set to take place from July 21-22 in Los Angeles’ Exposition Park. Janet Jackson, Florence+ The Machine were set to headline this year’s event; other acts included St. Vincent, the Breeders, the xx, Kali Uchis, and Charlotte Gainsbourg representing an important step in the effort to bring gender parity to a male-dominated festival scene.
