On Wednesday, March 14th, we headed to DIY Magazine‘s event at Seven Grand Austin; the showcase featured both national and transatlantic talents. Kicking off the evening was Suzi Wu directly from London with her breakout single “Teenage Witch“, followed by Madrid natives Baywaves. Then it was the turn of New Yorkers Public Access T.V. to rock the stage.
“We’re Public Access TV and it’s so good to be opening up the whole of SXSW!” frontman John Eatherley jokingly declared before blasting songs from new LP ‘Street Safari’, punk bop “Rough Boy” and their latest disco anthem “Metrotech.”
The night also featured performances from fellow NY boys The Britanys, South Londoners Goat Girl, and closing the night was LA’s own Starcrawler channeling their inner Iggy Pop and 70’s glam rock crazy behaviour. See photos of the event below and check out all our SXSW coverage and recaps here.
