David Byrne has added two New York City dates to the extensive world tour in support of his forthcoming solo record, ‘American Utopia‘, out this Friday, March 9. He will also be interviewed and will perform on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. For the first time since August 1983, during the Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense tour, Byrne will play Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, on September 15. He has also added a show at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn on September 17. Tickets for both shows go on sale on Friday, March 9 at 10am EST.
Byrne will be performing songs from ‘American Utopia‘, as well as classics from his solo career and his days with Talking Heads. A twelve-piece band joins Byrne on stage for a choreographed, “untethered” concert that he has called “the most ambitious show I’ve done since the ones that were filmed for Stop Making Sense.” Tune-Yards will open the shows in New York.
