Well, Lorde will finally see a diamond – plaque- in the flesh. The New Zealander’s breakthrough song “Royals” has been RIAA certified Diamond for sales of 10 million units.
The Grammy Award winning songstress is one of only five females, along with Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Carly Rae Jepsen and Meghan Trainor, in RIAA Gold & Platinum Program history to earn a Diamond Song. “Royals” (released March 19, 2013) is one of only six Diamond Songs released and certified in the last five years.
The single actually earned diamond status in December 2017, but Lorde just received her plaque during this past week’s Grammy festivities.
Her sophomore album ‘Melodrama’ was among Indscene’s Top 30 albums of 2017.
