During Queens Of The Stone Age‘s set at the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas show in Inglewood, California, frontman Josh Homme kicked a photographer in the head, Variety reports. Initially he released a Twitter statement apologizing, saying he “was lost in performance“; but, in a new video he admits: “I don’t have any excuse or reason to justify what I did. I was a total dick. I’m truly sorry, and I hope you’re okay.”
Chelsea Lauren, a Shutterstock photographer, has told Variety she intends to file a police report. “It was obviously very intentional,” she said, sharing footage of the incident. “He looked straight at me, swung his leg back pretty hard and full-blown kicked me in the face.” She was hospitalized due to her injuries.
He adressed Lauren saying: “I’m gonna have to figure out some stuff. … I understand you have to do whatever you have to do.”
Homme also extended the apology to his bandmates, his mom, his wife, his kids and his brother. “I don’t want them to ever be ashamed or embarrassed about being around me or knowing me.”
