Day 2 of Austin City Limits ended up majestically with a performance from the legendary Red Hot Chili Peppers. But before getting into them, here are some of our favorite performers of the day.

A$AP Ferg began his set at 2:00 pm at the American Express stage with a performance of “Trap and a Dream”. His set included a cover of Carnage (“WDYW”), and two A$AP Mob songs, “Yamborghini High” and “Walk on Water”. His show ended with “Magnolia” from Playboi Carti.

The afternoon continued with Angel Olsen at the Miller Lite stage, where she played songs “Never Be Mine”, “Those Were the Days”, and “Sweet Dreams”.

Cut Copy also delivered a great show, but unfortunately their last song “Lights & Music” was interrupted, probably on purpose, for a special Tom Petty tribute. All the screens in the festival began playing his ACL performance of “Free Fallin” that took place a few years ago.

One of our favorite performances was definitely from Spoon, who were playing “where it all started”. As a big fan of the band, I still wanted more songs from them! But of course, at festivals time is limited. Can’t wait to watch them on a full concert.

As I was heading to the American Express stage to watch Red Hot CHili Peppers, I heard Chance the Rapper coming out. Inappropriately, his show began with a few explosions that put me and many fans nervous. I mean, what were he and his team thinking?

Anyway, Red Hot Chili Peppers are always amazing. True rock legends. The first time I saw them live was here at this same stage in Austin City Limits 2012, so it was pretty special to watch them live again here in Austin.
