It has now been pointed as the deadliest mass shooting in US history, surpassing last year’s Orlando tragedy where 49 people were killed. This time, in a country music festival in Las Vegas called Harvest Festival, a shooting began around 22:30. Country singer Jason Aldean was performing at the time it happened. People dropped into the ground. 50 have died and over 200 are injured.

The shooter, identified as Stephen Paddock of age 64, opened fire from his room at the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel. The police confirmed that he was a resident of Las Vegas. He was killed by the police moments later. A female roommate was also detained.

Isn’t it finally time to have control over who gets guns in the United States? Are we going to wait for more tragedies to happen? Enough innocent people have been killed in the past few years and nothing has been done to stop it.

May they all rest in peace.
