The Killers performed last night (September 12th) an intimate show at the O2 Brixton Academy with a capacity of less than 5,000 fans. The band, who will release their new album ‘Wonderful Wonderful‘ on September 22nd, kicked off their show with an explosive performance of “The Man“, followed by “Run For Cover“.
The venue was packed with fans of all ages, from teens in their 15sthat came with their parents to fans over 45 years old. “Me and my wife like The Killers, especially the old songs“. That was the response of a man around 45 when I asked him if they were fans from the band or if they were just accompanying someone else.
“Tonight we are playing some new songs, songs we haven’t played like in 11 years...” And they did. “Andy You’re a Star” and “Sweet Talk” were played for the first time since 2009.
The band invited on stage actor Woody Harrelson to introduce a brand new and promising song “The Calling“.
The Killers will perform two headline shows at London’s Wembley Stadium on November 27 and 28.
