On this day in 1977, the king of rock n’ roll Elvis Presley died at the age of 42. Numerous artists have covered his songs during the past few decades. Today we remember some of the covers that we still enjoy these days.

We all have heard this amazing cover of “Always In My Mind” from the Pet Shop Boys. This version even charted higher than the original!

With just an ukulele in his hands, Tyler Joseph from Twenty One Pilots covered Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love“back in 2012. He is later joined by a crowd that awaits him in a small intimate venue.

This song is a classic, so it’s no surprise that many artists have covered it in their shows. Pearl Jam did his own version during a show in the land of Elvis, at the MGM Arena, back in the year 2000.

Norah Jones did a smooth cover of “Are you Lonesome“.

It’s no secret that Elvis had a huge influence on The Beatles. During the Quarrymen-Beatles era, they covered over 30 songs from Elvis.

The admiration was mutual…

Paul McCartney even performed with Elvis Presley band back in 2001.

But the biggest Elvis fan from The Beatles was John Lennon.

Another legendary artist playing an Elvis song was Tom Petty, who made an acoustic version of “Wooden Heart“.

And how about this cover of “Viva Las Vegas” from ZZ Top?

And we end up this list with two covers from a band that comes from Elvis land, from fabulous Las Vegas.
